Lehigh has purchased the Data Cookbook to use as our central repository for Lehigh’s data definitions, data lineage, and report and dashboard specifications. The Data Cookbook will help to increase awareness and understanding of data elements in use at the institution.

The implementation of the Data Cookbook kicked off on September 11, 2018. The first phase of the project will begin with two of our functional areas: Registration & Academic Services and Financial Aid. In early 2019, additional functional areas will be working in the Data Cookbook to document their definitions and processes.

The objectives for this project are to:

  • Create a common platform to share and manage data definitions

  • Facilitate communication and knowledge of enterprise data assets

  • Provide access to data lineage and ownership

  • Support Lehigh’s Data Governance process

  • Empower data stewards and managers
